What is ISDN?
ISDN is one of the most advanced and extensively used communication tool.
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a digital dial-up, end-to-end connection service that integrates voice, video, data or text facilities.
By providing these facilities simultaneously, ISDN offers the flexibility and convenience necessary for successful communications.
The speed of one ISDN channel (known as B channel) is 64kbps. The Basic rate ISDN has 2 channels and can be used simultaneously, or independently. In other words, you can make or receive a phone call, send or receive a fax and surf the Internet at 64kbps or using both channels at 128kbps - any two at the same time, on the same line.
